who we are

Fizz ("find your fizz") is a test educational tool developed by Maggie, age 10, with support from her mum Jeni. It is not operated by a company. For privacy queries, contact hello@findyourfizz.co.uk. We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) as required under the UK Data Protection Act 2018.

our commitment to children's privacy

Fizz is designed for use by children aged 4–15 in UK schools. We take child privacy extremely seriously. Our approach is guided by the ICO's Children's Code (Age Appropriate Design Code) and UK GDPR. We collect the absolute minimum information needed and store nothing about children.

what information does Fizz collect?

from pupils (children)

When a child uses the Fizz activity engine, they may enter: first name only (optional), year group, activity preferences, equipment available, and how many ideas they want. None of this information is stored. It is used only to generate activity ideas and is discarded immediately after.

from teachers

Teachers may additionally provide their school email address to receive activity ideas by email. This email address is:

school access codes

Schools are issued access codes to use Fizz. These codes are associated with a school name and email domain. No personal data is stored in connection with access codes.

how we use information

All information entered into Fizz is used solely to generate appropriate activity suggestions via our AI service (Anthropic's Claude). Teacher email addresses are used solely to send requested activity results. We do not use any information for marketing, profiling, advertising, or any purpose other than providing the Fizz service.

AI processing — transparency notice

Fizz uses artificial intelligence (Anthropic's Claude API) to generate activity ideas. This is a requirement of EU AI Act transparency obligations and UK ICO guidance on AI. When you use Fizz:

The AI-generated suggestions are not clinical, therapeutic, or professional recommendations. They are creative activity ideas for break times.

data retention

Fizz retains no personal data. There is no database. Each session is entirely ephemeral. Teacher email addresses are passed to Resend for email delivery and are not retained by Fizz thereafter.

third party processors

legal basis for processing (UK GDPR)

Processing of pupil inputs: Legitimate interests — necessary to provide the requested service, with minimal data and no storage. Processing of teacher email addresses: Consent — teachers actively choose to enter their email to receive results.

children's code compliance

Fizz is designed in accordance with the ICO's Age Appropriate Design Code:

EU AI Act compliance

Fizz uses AI to generate activity suggestions. Under the EU AI Act 2024, Fizz is classified as a minimal-risk AI system. We comply with transparency requirements by clearly disclosing AI use throughout the product. The AI does not make consequential decisions about individuals.

your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, and delete your personal data. Because Fizz stores no personal data, there is nothing to access or delete. If you believe we have processed your data in error, please contact hello@findyourfizz.co.uk.

changes to this policy

We will update this policy as Fizz develops. Schools and parents are encouraged to review it periodically. Any material changes will be communicated to schools using Fizz.
