cookie policy
Last updated: May 2026
the short version
Fizz does not use any tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or analytics cookies. We do not track your behaviour, build profiles about you, or share your data with advertisers. Full stop.
what is a cookie?
A cookie is a small file stored on your device by a website. Cookies can be used for many purposes — from keeping you logged in, to tracking what you look at across the internet for advertising purposes.
what cookies does Fizz use?
Fizz uses only essential technical cookies that are required for the website to function. These are set by our hosting provider, Netlify, and are necessary for delivering the website to your browser. They do not collect personal information and are not used for tracking or advertising.
Specifically, Fizz does NOT use:
- Analytics cookies (e.g. Google Analytics)
- Advertising or targeting cookies
- Social media cookies
- Behavioural tracking cookies
- Any third-party marketing cookies
third party services
Fizz uses the following third-party services which may set their own essential cookies:
- Netlify — our hosting provider. Their cookies are essential for site delivery. See netlify.com/privacy for details.
- Google Fonts — used to load the Nunito font. Google may set a short-lived cookie. No personal data is collected for advertising purposes.
Fizz uses Anthropic's Claude AI and Resend email services server-side. These do not set cookies on your device.
EU and UK cookie law compliance
Under the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and EU ePrivacy Directive, websites must obtain consent before placing non-essential cookies. Because Fizz uses only essential cookies, no consent banner is required. However, we have included this policy in the interests of full transparency.
children and cookies
Fizz is designed for use by children in schools. We have deliberately chosen not to use any non-essential cookies, analytics, or tracking technologies precisely because our users may include children. This is consistent with the ICO's Children's Code (Age Appropriate Design Code) and our commitment to child privacy.
how to manage cookies
You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to refuse cookies or delete existing ones. Note that blocking essential cookies may affect how the Fizz website functions.
changes to this policy
If we introduce any new cookies in future (for example, if we add analytics to measure how Fizz is being used), we will update this policy and add an appropriate consent mechanism. We will never introduce advertising or tracking cookies.
